Computer Support Specialist (A.A.S.)

The Computer Support Specialist program provides the student with a strong computer information systems core in programming, operating systems, networking, and database. It prepares the student to work in an environment in which they assist people with technology, complete system operations, maintain and support personal computer hardware and software.
The goals of this program are to:
- prepare students to develop object-oriented programs. Be proficient in office productivity software and computer support; and
- prepare students to perform hardware and operating system installation and maintenance.
Successful graduates from this program will be able to:
- be proficient in office productivity software, object-oriented programming and hardware and software installation; and
- maintain and support computer systems.
Career Opportunities/Transfer Information
Graduates find employment in a variety of public and private businesses. Graduates will have the skills necessary to apply for entry-level positions as help-desk technicians, and computer repair technicians. While not designed as a transfer program, transfer articulation agreements have been established with Franklin University, Cobleskill Technology College and Delhi Technology College.
