ED 215 Educating the Exceptional

This course is intended for teacher candidates to develop the necessary skills to provide (individualizing) instruction that will promote participation and progress of students with disabilities in the general education curriculum. Characteristics of various disabilities along with basic educational services provided to individuals with disabilities according to special education process and State and Federal special education laws and regulations will be presented. Effective teaching practices and application of positive behavioral supports and interventions to address student & classroom management needs will be examined. Students will make arrangements for the required 15 hours of supervised field experience. Contact Hours: (2,2)
